THE 33 STARS OF ENLIL

The MUL.APIN are cuneiform tablets of astronomy that have been deciphered. They are a description of the stars as seen by Babylonians. It is a list of constellations and planets. These cover the “path” of 33 stars linked to the Babylonian gods. These are similar to Anunnaki. Knowledge is the sciences of Astronomy and Astrology.

THE 33 STARS ON THE PATH OF ENLIL

The Plow (GISH.APIN), the lead star of the stars of Enlil, a god. The stars of the constellation of Perseus.

The Wolf (UR.BAR.RA), seed-funnel of the plough. The seed are the Pleiades in the constellation of Taurus. Also the stars of the constellation of Perseus.

The Man, Old One (SHU.GI), Enmesharra, a god. In the constellation of Auriga.

The Crook Staff (GAM), the crook staff Gamlum. This is the staff in the hand of Orion. The constellation of Camelopardalis.

The Large Twins (MASH.TAB.BA.GAL.GAL), Lugalgirra and Meslamtaea, gods. These are the bottom stars of the constellation of Gemini.

The Small Twins (MASH.TAB.BA.TUR.TUR), Lal and Nin. The stars Castor, α (alpha) Geminorum, and Pollux, β (beta) Geminorum, in the constellation of Gemini.

The River Crayfish (AL.LUL), domicile of Anu, a god. This is the constellation of Cancer.

The Lion (UR.GU.LA), Latarak, a god. The star Regulus, α (alpha) Leonis is in the constellation of Leo.

The Breast-Star of Leo, the “king-star” (MUL). LUGAL. This is the star Zosma in the constellation of Leo. Also known as δ (delta) Leonis.

The weaker stars of Leo’s tail: the date-palm panicle of Erua and Zarpanitum, gods. This is the star Denebola γ (gamma) Leonis in the constellation of Leo with the constellation of Coma Berenices above him.

SHU.PA, thus who determines the “aptitude” of a mountain is Enlil, a god. This is the star Arcturus, α (alpha) Boötis in the constellation of Boötes.

The star before him: Chegalaju, the messenger of Ninlil, a god. This could be the star η (eta) Boötis.

The star after him: (BAL.TESH.A), messenger of Tishpak, a god. This is the star Alphecca, α (alpha) in the constellation of Coronae Borealis.

The (great) Wagon (MAR.GID.DA), of Ninlil, a god. This is the constellation of Libra.

The star at the shaft of the (great) Wagon: the strong one among the gods is Erra, a god. This is the star Graffias, ξ (xi) Scorpii in the constellation of Scorpio. It is also combined with the constellation of Lupus.

The star to the front of the (great) Wagon: The Mother Sheep is Aja, a god. This is the star Antares, α (alpha) Scorpii in the constellation of Scorpius.

The Yoked Yoke (MU.BU.KESH.DA). This is the great one of the heavens, Anu, a god. This is the star θ (theta) Ophiuchi, in the constellation of Ophiuchus.

The (small) Wagon of Heaven (MAR.GID.DA.AN.NA), Damkianna, a god. These are the middle stars of the constellation of Scorpio.

The star on its Cable: Inheritor of the Great Temple (IBILA.E.MACH), the first, highest son of Anu, a god. This could be the star Dschubba, δ (delta) Scorpii in the constellation of Scorpio. The temple may be the triangular shape of the “head”.

The Standing Gods DINGIR.GUB.BA.(MESH) of E.KUR are the “tail” stars of the constellation of Scorpio.

The Sitting Gods DINGIR.TUSH.A.(MESH) of E.KUR are the front stars of the constellation of Sagittarius.

The Goat, GU.LA. This is the constellation of Capricorn.

The star before the goat: The Sitting Dog (UR.KU). This is the constellation of Serpens Caput.

The bright star of the Goat. Lamma is the messenger of Baba, both gods. This is the star Rasalhague, α (alpha) Ophiuchi.

Two stars, behind her: NIN.SAR and ER.RA.GAL. This is the main stars in the constellation of Lyra.

The Leopard (UD.KA.DUCH.A), U.GUR. The constellation of Cygnus with the tail in the constellation of Cepheus. It then goes down to Aquarius.

The star to his right: the swine (SHACH), Damu, a god. This is the star Sham, α (alpha) Sigattae.

The star to his left: the horse (ANSHE.KUR.RA). The constellation of Lacerta.

The star behind him: the stag (LU.LIM), messenger of the Pleiades (MUL.MUL). This is the constellation of Cassiopeia.

The weak stars at the breast of the stag: Charriru, god of the rainbow. This is the constellation of Andromeda. The star is Apheratz, α (alpha) Andromedae.

The bright red star at the kidney of the stag. Destroyer (KA.MUSH.I.KU.E). This is the star Algol β (beta) Persei, in the constellation of Perseus.

“When the stars of Enlil are finished, a large star of matted light divides the heavens there: the star of Marduk, a god. This is the star Hamal, α (alpha) Arietis in the constellation of Aries.

Jupiter (SAG.ME.GAR) changes its position continuously, crossing the heavens.

Those are the 33 stars of Enlil.

Looking at a modern North Celestial Pole star map, these constellations form a complete path: Perseus, Auriga, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Coma Berenices, Boötes, Libra, and then turning back via Scorpius, Sagittarius, Sagitta, Lacerta, Cassiopeia, to return again to Perseus. This path follows the Milky Way for about half its length.
